Project: Meat Loaf Tribute Medley
Role: Choreographer
Theatre: Peoples Theatre, Newcastle upon Tyne
Performed by: Lorraine Crosby and SA Performing Arts students and graduates
Director: Ian Waller
Production Overview
It was an honor to choreograph Lorraine Crosby’s Meat Loaf tribute medley, performed in remembrance of his legacy. Hosted at Newcastle’s Peoples Theatre as part of SA Performing Arts’ 20th-anniversary celebration, the medley featured current students and alumni from the academy. Lorraine, known as the original singer on Meat Loaf’s iconic I Would Do Anything for Love, brought a powerful connection to the performance, paying homage to her past work with Meat Loaf and Jim Steinman.
Choreography Approach
The medley featured beloved Meat Loaf classics, including Bat Out of Hell, Paradise by the Dashboard Light, and I Would Do Anything for Love. I designed the choreography to capture both the raw energy and emotion of Meat Loaf’s music, allowing each performer to embody the dynamic spirit of his style. Throughout the creative process, the passion and talent of the cast were evident, and we worked together to bring an unforgettable tribute to life.
