Production Overview
BBC’s adaptation of Towards Zero, based on Agatha Christie’s mystery novel, follows Superintendent Battle and Inspector Leach as they unravel the complex connections around a widow’s murder at Gull’s Point. The series weaves together intrigue, suspense, and 1940s atmosphere, and includes a lavish jazz-era party scene that captures the glamour and tension of the period.
Choreography Contribution
As Assistant Choreographer, I worked alongside movement director Polly Bennett, whose detailed choreography was developed to evoke the swing dance styles of the 1940s. My role involved overseeing and directing the movement on set in Polly’s absence, guiding a cast of dancers and supporting artists through a vibrant swing dance scene. Set in a swanky hotel with a live jazz band, the choreography created a lively backdrop filled with soldiers, GIs, and socialites celebrating at a wartime party.
